ABOUT
College Bound and Beyond
The growth of College Bound and Beyond was launched in
2003, based upon a vision of Aviva Giannotti. With over 25
years of professional experience as a College Counselor,
Secondary School Counselor and Teacher of Family and Consumer
Sciences and Life Skills, she felt that “Our educational system
needs to educate our youngsters in career planning,
self-exploration, and assessing an individual’s strengths and
abilities. Although some educational institutions have begun to
implement some programs, they have a long way to go”. Her
strong belief is that every person, young or mature, different
learning style or not, college educated or high school GED has
the talent and potential to succeed. But, how do we succeed?
We need to learn skills that will allow us to reach our goals
and objectives, and understand who we are and what we are
about. We are not born with these skills; we have to learn
them. She compares it to learning how to drive a car. We are
not born with the skills necessary to drive a car.
